Meeting you where you are, with curiosity and compassion
About Meimei Dai
Counsellor in Singapore
Hi, I’m Meimei, a counsellor based in Singapore. I offer in-person and online sessions for adults, parents navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, life transitions, parenthood and more.
My approach is person-centred and integrative using ACT, CBT and Schema Therapy. I aim at creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you can pause, reflect, process difficult emotions, and explore what is happening beneath the surface.
As a mother of two who has lived across different cultures, I bring sensitivity to the pressures of parenting, cross-cultural identity, family expectations, and the many roles we carry. I believe that even during challenging times, meaningful change is possible, your own strengths and inner resources can be rediscovered.
And I’ll be there to support you along the way, with care, curiosity, and compassion.
我的咨询方式以来访者为中心,并结合 ACT(接纳与承诺疗法)、CBT(认知行为疗法)及图式疗法等整合性取向。

Meimei’s Story
My story.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over a decade in the technology industry—a meaningful chapter that taught me about ambition, growth, and the demands of working life. Yet behind what looked like a successful, “put-together” life, I was carrying stress, inner conflict, and a hard-to-name sense that something was not right.
My own healing journey showed me how easy but yet costly it can be to simply keep going, and how pausing with honesty and compassion can open the way to meaningful change.
Having lived and worked across Europe, Asia, and the U.S., I bring a deep appreciation for the cultural, personal, and family stories that shape us. As a mother of two, I also understand that parenthood can be deeply meaningful while bringing uncertainty, pressure, and shifts in identity. These experiences inform the way I meet you: with openness, curiosity, and respect for the life you have lived.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy small, grounding moments: bullet journalling with lo-fi music, playing with my kids, and dancing. I bring this same spirit of warmth, humanity, and gentle curiosity into my work, and make space for reflection, hope, and even lightness alongside the harder conversations.
My practice.
I hold a master’s degree in counselling and I work with adults, parents, and couples who may be navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions, questions of identity, or a desire for a change. I am passionate about supporting people as they heal from their past, move through difficult times, and ultimately find a way forward that feels right for them.
My approach is person-centred, integrative, and adaptive. I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy (ST) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Depending on what feels most helpful, we may explore recurring patterns, make room for difficult thoughts and emotions, develop practical ways of coping, or reconnect with the values that guide your life.
I aim to create a space that is open, non-judgemental, and caring, where you can bring your full experience and feel met with curiosity and compassion. I believe each person has inner resources that can be rediscovered and strengthened. Even in times of crisis or uncertainty, there can be room for growth, renewed self-compassion, and a meaningful new chapter.

How I work
As a counsellor, I offer a person-centred and integrative approach, drawing on therapeutic models that can be adapted to your needs, goals, and pace:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Schema Therapy (ST)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
I use these approaches flexibly to develop a fuller understanding of what you are experiencing—your thoughts, emotions, patterns, relationships, and the context of your life. Together, we can explore what feels most meaningful and helpful, whether that involves making sense of the past, building practical coping tools, or moving towards a life that feels more aligned with your values.
What to expect
Before the first session.
We start with a 15-minute introductory call (free of charge) to see if we’re a good fit. You can also use this opportunity to ask any question about the therapeutic process, or how I work.
The first session.
Our first session will focus on getting to know you, your story, and what’s bringing you in now. There’s no pressure to share everything, just whatever feels relevant to start with.
Ongoing sessions.
Sessions are typically weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and pace. Some sessions may be more conversational, while others may focus on understanding recurring patterns, exploring difficult emotions, or include some experiential techniques. We may also reflect on how your past experiences, family expectations, cultural context, or current roles are shaping you. There is no fixed formula—our work adapts based on your needs and goals.
